I don't know about PFAS, but in addition to the added filtration, this filter lasts for 6 months, so, just swap twice a year. I set a calendar event to make sure I'm doing it.   • Flip tops are easy to break and difficult to clean. I use a small brush to clean all the small parts as soon as I see the slightest change in color. Brita products are durable and with the right care can be used or years.

  • This is correct, the filters only hold so much, if your water is on the harder side it won’t last as long. When I lived in San Diego and had tap water at like 1000ppm+ the filters would last maybe a month. now that I live elsewhere with water at 60-70ppm I can get 4-6 months out of one filter.

  • same thing happened to me, the worst part about it was that the filter gave me literally no leeway, was either fine or made the water taste like fish. it was so annoying to realize it was not worth it at all to be using a new filter every 3-4 weeks because I loved how the water tasted. also unrelated to your question, I noticed I got more headaches when I was using the zero water filter. eventually read in to it specific to zero water and found that a lot of people were experiencing similar things because they filter out EVERYTHING, so you're not getting any minerals that you actually need from water to hydrate you. and in a way end up getting more dehydrated the more water you drink. I ended up switching back to brita (I know I know, terrible and they're getting sued now), but it's saved me so much money. took me a couple weeks to get used to the flavor of the water (I've never liked how my tap water tastes), but once I did I started to enjoy it again.

  • Zero water is worth the money. Brita is trash. Project farm did a water filter review twice and both times zero water crushed it. You can get them for around $11/ea if you buy the large packs on Amazon. Changing the filter on them is pretty easy too. You just unscrew it and put a new one on, the zero water filters are pre-primed so you don’t need to run water through them. Just put a new one in and that’s it.

  • this is insightful, but longevity is much pretty important with these. ivebbeennusing zero water for over a year now and the filters are incredibly overpriced and last 2 weeks AT MOST before starting to develop a sour taste which is due to mold developing in the filter itself. wanna replace the filter every 2 weeks? no worries! just be prepared to spend 60 damn dollars per month for water :) at that point, getting a $100 filter that hooks to a tap is a way better option because they have constant pressure. in terms of price, zero water is AWFUL

Brita is fine for getting rid of some chlorine taste, but when I started looking into what was actually still in my water, I realized I wanted something a little more thorough. I ended up switching to ClearlyFiltered a while back, and the difference has been noticeable. It’s still a pitcher, so it’s just as easy to use, but it claims to remove way more stuff than the average carbon filter (i.e. lead, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, etc.). It’s not the cheapest option. But I figured if I’m filtering my water, I want it to actually do something beyond just making it taste better.

  • Yeah, a lot of people don’t realize that Brita (and similar filters) only take care of the basics. If your water is already pretty clean, it’s fine, but if you want something that tackles more contaminants, it’s worth looking at other brands. I also switched to ClearlyFiltered last year, mostly because I was concerned about PFAS and other things my local water report flagged. Their testing data looked solid, and I liked that they actually show what their filters remove. Oh and the water tastes great, and I don’t have to wonder if I’m just getting slightly improved tap water. Might be worth looking into!

  • I was in the same situation as Brita good taste but insufficient filtration. I made the switch to ClearlyFiltered, and it is much better. It filters out heavy metals, PFAS, pharmaceuticals, chlorine—all the things Brita doesn't catch. And their filters last much longer, so you're not swapping them out all the time. It's NSF-certified as well, so you know it's actually doing something. If you're looking for something simple yet effective, this is the boost you've been looking for.

  • Nice job Alexa! Your video was very helpful. I have used a Berkey for ten years and but have fluoride in our water and just hated the whole process of the white fluoride filters. After watching your video I decided to order the CF pitcher and I love it. The only trouble I had was priming the filter. I have arthritis in my hands and it was very difficult to fasten the filter onto the priming bag tight enough, so the water just flowed over the top and no water came out of the bottom. After a few unsuccessful tries, I finally was able to grasp it with one of those rubber jar openers and twist it tight enough and it worked! Now I am enjoying fresh clean water. Thank you!

  • We purchased two filters/pitcher over six months and can definitely see a reduction in quality. The second pitcher kept leaking from the same location and the replacement filter for the first unit couldn’t be activated. Clearly Filter customer service insists on customers troubleshooting with parts over a course of several weeks with gaskets and removing the filter and reattaching it. Return shipping is the responsibility of customer even if the unit is defective. Water from the second unit doesn’t even taste the same as the first unit. Not sure what’s going on here but the quality and the consistency is definitely degrading.

  • CONSIDER IT CAREFULLY. They sent me a defective filter at first and "out of courtesy" they send me another filter, which took about only 20 days, compared to four months as stated in the ads, to degenerate into filtering the tank for over hours. What cannot be accepted is that they refuse to refund since it is out of the 30 days return period. They seem to forget that a 20-day waning cycle and sending a defective product are violations of customers' rights!

  • I tried this pitcher for over a month and eventually got so frustrated that I returned it. That being said the customer service was excellent. But they sent me a replacement lid and a free filter because nothing worked properly. After a week or longer these filters halted to a stop so it was unusable. Perhaps I just had bad luck but they ended up paying for me to ship it back because of all my inquiries. 🤣

  • WOW i just noticed the water taste way better now, in the video the company and youtube reviewers tell you to do priming only twice! I did it two and half times and the water still had that bad tap water flavor, after filtrating the first full gallon of water that tasted awful, now on the second gallon it tastes way better! Almost like distilled water, SO PLEASE people i recommend doing priming at least 5 to 6 times before drinking, who knows what contaminants drank on my first gallon batch

  • I live in a beach community and we have town water typical of that in many beach communities. In other words, it tastes bad and smells of chlorine. If you use it to make ice cubes, you will note your drink tasting different after a few minutes. I don't mean that in a good way either. On the advice of friends, I bought a PUR water filter and it improved the taste of both water and ice immeasurably. But the sediment that remained caused a buildup in my countertop ice machine that shortened its life. I replaced my ice maker twice in three years. When the second machine died due to mineral buildup, I decided to do something about reducing the dissolved solids. On the advice of another friend, I bought a Zero Water. It brought my town water from 318 down to 000 with the first batch of filtered water. I change the filter roughly once a month, when the reading gets up to 006. Mineral buildup is tremendously reduced in the ice maker. I did notice the PUR water tasted better than the Zero Water filter made, but it's a slight thing. The important thing to me is that my iced drinks and my coffee both taste as they should with either filter, especially compared to the piss the town supplies. And my ice maker and coffee maker both prefer the Zero Water. If I had to make a recommendation, if you have normal water, go with the PUR; if you have heavily sedimented water, go with the Zero Water.

  • Zero water filters work. BUT, it takes me 2-3 hours to refill it. Drip…..drip………drip. Plus, if you don’t change the filter often, you’ll get a fishy taste. My pur water filter, which I’m sure doesn’t clean the water as well as Zero does, refills in minutes. It’s worth it to me to avoid the hassle & use pur. I can’t taste the difference even though my zero meter shows that it’s not working as well as Zero.

  • Yea, this is a bit of concern. Water can leach from your teeth over the long term. Limited research but basically distilled water does raise some concerns long term. I switched to PUR which is not so extreme but still a strong filter. IMHO the potential negatives of Zero Water make it not worth it, dental care is expensive, and I regularly drink a lot of water, so protecting my teeth is obviously a concern for me.

  • I just bought the water drop a few weeks ago. The ingenious fill lid, speed, and pitcher is a huge plus. But our tap water now taste great. If u have heavy metals etc. in your tap water then u may need a heavy duty water filter.

  • Alkaline water is good for people like myself who struggle with acid reflex. I just ordered the Waterdrop model because I drink well water that is chlorine free but tests high in copper due to the copper water pipes in my house. It should filter out the copper as advertised on Amazon.

  • You apparently did not read the directions on how to replace the filter. You are supposed to soak the filter in water for 10 minutes. Then dump out the first two or three pitchers of water
