Why it ranks here. The Stagg EKG is the kettle coffee people talk about, in every thread and in reviews with hundreds of thousands of views: a gooseneck that pours exactly, a fast heater and a design people put on the counter to be seen. It ranks first on that pull. It comes with a known fault and a price that makes people cross.
The long-term owners are happy. One has been 'rocking the same Stagg EKG from their kickstarter campaign for about a decade, never failed me once'↗; a Corvo owner five years in says 'the build quality feels like it'll last decades'↗. Two things follow it around. The gooseneck 'can be annoying for pouring fast'↗, and an owner who 'quit pour over'↗ finds it 'deff annoying'↗ for a mug of tea; the Corvo is the same kettle without it. And the fuse. Some units stop heating after one to three years, a cheap thermal fuse inside, and the repair is common enough that a five-minute fix on YouTube has 200,000 views and comments like 'THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO AND FIX!'↗ from an owner whose two-year-old kettle had gone in the bin. At $150 to $200, one commenter calls the whole thing a grift. Buy it for pour-over, and bookmark the fix.

I’ve been rocking the same Stagg EKG from their kickstarter campaign for about a decade, never failed me once.
-
I spent a little extra and got a Fellow gooseneck kettle and I love it. Probably been at least 2 years now
-
I love everything about mine, I just wish it was a little quicker on the pour.
-
Fellow kettle EKG, don’t get the pour one.
-
Corvo is the name of the non-pourover model. Stagg has a gooseneck that can be annoying for pouring fast.
-
my parents got a Fellow kettle like three years ago and it still works perfect, no issues at all. I use it when I visit and it heats up way faster than the cheap ones I had before
-
I have this one, 6ish years old at this point, still works perfectly, would recommend. Although I do have the stagg gooseneck one and it is deff annoying for pouring fast since I quit pour over.
-
I’ve had my Fellow Corvo for 5 years now with zero issues, and the build quality feels like it’ll last decades.

I have filtered instant hot water at my sink, but my sister has a Fellow Corvo EKG. I use it often when I visit. She has had hers for 6-7 years. It heats up very quickly, and I like the feel of the kettle in my hand. The controls are cool, too. Would buy one, if I needed one.

This may turn into a rant, but this is an example of why I get really ticked about the snobbery in the coffee and cooking communities, people gatekeeping and telling newbies just to "Spend the money. You have to pay for quality." Well, obviously quality is not a priority anymore. These new start-ups and luxury companies exist to grift people.

My Stagg has lasted a little over 7 years, so maybe I'm one of the lucky ones? I was hellbent on fixing it, because I refused to buy another at the current price point.

Well, My 2 year old Fellow Kettle went into the trash the other day. My wife found your video! She said go get it out of the trash and try this fix... after the 5 min fix I walked into the kitchen plugged it in saw the display act like it used to heard some gurgling noise and it actually worked! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO AND FIX!

I found one today at a garage sale for $2.00 Some oldsters were downsizing and were clearing out their house. I brought it home and all the features worked 🤟🏼

Good, helpful, concise, and informative--thanks for this excellent review! I've been looking for someone to comment on the utility of this kettle for tea.

I just bought one, and it will not heat up. I tried different electric outlets, the unit does not work.
