The Rain Design stand is a fixed stand with no height adjustment. So, it's very quick to just drop it on the table and drop your MBP on top of it. There are tons of other stand with height adjustment. But those take longer to set up.

The stand supports the laptop with rubber pads on the bottom and on the lip that rises up by the trackpad, no scratches. I’ve used mine for about ten years.

I have an mStand my Rain Design. It is a solid aluminium stand, and is very sturdy. I have used it for my M1 Max for many years.

the wobble when typing is my biggest hate - cheap stands flex with a 16 pro. also scratches from aluminum on aluminum is real. i've had three and the rain design mstand is solid zero wobble but not portable.

I’ve had one of these for a few years. I’ve never regretted getting it - very ergonomic (I use a similar desk setup to that shown in the video). Very well made and robust - recommended!

I don’t understand the heat sync claim when the rubber bits of the stand would be what is in contact with the laptop

I really like the way the prongs block your track pad, really useful feature. Now you don't have to choose, you rather need a wireless mouse.
