Why it ranks here. The scanner people upgrade to after a cheap dongle or a subscription app: a polished app, brake, airbag and transmission codes, repair suggestions, and no fee ever. A three-year Civic owner says it shows Honda-specific codes where cheap dongles just throw generic ones, another is five or six years in, a retired master technician calls the live data awesome, and a used-car shopper screened ten cars in a week with it for less than one shop inspection.
A few units arrive dead; one buyer needed a second replacement because the first would not connect to anything. Code descriptions are occasionally wrong for the car, such as a parking-sensor description on a truck with none that a rival read as a brake-lamp fault. It costs more than a plain reader.

Been using a BlueDriver bluetooth adapter for about 3 years now and it's been solid with my '16 Civic. The app actually shows Honda-specific codes and has pretty decent live data - way better than the generic cheap dongles that just throw P-codes at you. Around $100 but worth it since you're not dealing with connection drops every 5 minutes like the $20 ones from Amazon.

I also have had the BlueDriver for a while. It helped me diagnose a few issues. Including wheel speed sensor, and passenger airbag sensor.

Recently purchased a Bluedriver pro scanner, it was on sale for like 80 bucks through their website and with Walmart plus it had an extra 15 off that. I'd been wanting to try it forever and all my buddies who have one have sung nothing but the highest praises. I just had to get sent a second replacement unit because the first one just would not connect to anything whatsoever. I tried everything under the sun to get it to work, but it would scan for 30 minutes and give "no response from vehicle." This second unit worked immediately out of the box for my 2024 Bronco sport

Hey, Chris... I purchased this product after seen this video a few years back. I had a 02 GMC Envoy, and this tool aided me a bit. True be told, I was not happy with it at the time because it did not have sufficient information based on my truck... For the past week, I have been looking into getting another car... the information provided by the BlueDriver has saved me a lot of pain and money. I have come to love the ability to scan all available modules of a car when I am in the middle of drive testing it... It's about 100 to 150 USD to scan and pre-buy inspection of a car and I must have seen ten cars the past week.

Purchased mine then like 2 days ago, they had it on sale. LOL. Works great although it did give me a wrong code detail for my F150. I was having issues with my license plate lights... BlueDriver gave me a code of B1115 "Rear Parking Aid Signal circuit Short to ground" even though my truck doesn't have any parking aids in the back bumper. A scan using Forscan indicated "B1115 High Mounted Stop Lamp Control, incorrect current consumption." Sure enough, the Chinesium LED bulb I had in there was burnt out. Same code number but different code details.

For an experienced auto mechanic that knows what all the sensor information means this is AWESOME. Mode 6, live data and freeze frame data are very useful if you know what you are looking at... As a retired ASE Master Tech I WANT this. wife says Mmeh! I also recommend.

I bought an auto x ray in 98 and have used it many times with great success but there is no support anymore so I researched and bought this. WOW. New technology is great. I have been an electronics technician since 69 and have seen technology go from vacuum tubes to what we have today. This scanner is the way to go for any one. You can buy others for les money but as usual you get what you pay for. Believe Chris on this one.

Bought the Bluedriver couple weeks ago and found it very easy to use, just like ChrisFix says. Diagnosed an O2 sensor over voltage on my Miata. I am used car shopping and plan to take it with me when I find a likely candidate to see what I can see.
