Why it ranks here. The pot that made people give up on the regular crockpot: it sears and sautés in the same pot before slow cooking, proofs bread dough, bakes, holds a sous vide temperature, and goes from stovetop to oven. One owner's whole bread-making process changed with the proof setting, another made the best roast of her life without heating the kitchen, and one sent back every other Amazon slow cooker, Crock-Pot included, and kept this.
Low runs hotter than a classic crockpot; one owner measured Low at 130 degrees and High at 300, so cook times need adjusting. The sear function is not quite hot enough for a deep crust. A few owners saw the non-stick shed flecks, and Ninja says the lining is PTFE-free nano-ceramic. There is no true delay-start timer.
What owners like
- Sears, proofs and sous vides in one pot
- Best roasts owners have made
- Nothing extra to scrub
What owners complain about
- Low runs hot
- Sear not hot enough
- Non-stick flecks for a few
“My daughter got me one of these for christmas. At first I was thinking why do I need another croc pot that takes up so much space. Then I saw the proof feature......this has changed my whole bread making process. mix your dough, proof for 30 minutes, punch down, proof another 30 minutes, then bake for 30 and you have amazing bread in 2 hours. For me it was worth it just for the proof feature.” — YouTube comment · ramboton · 2024-02

I had the same experience with Amazon slow cookers. I sent them all back. Even Crockpot brand wasn’t great. This is my new one.

I'm so glad you mentioned the low being very LOW. My experience is that the HIGH boils food over, and the Low does not even bring food to a whirlpool simmer bubble; the warm is seriously low. I tested my Low and it was 130 degrees, I tested High and its 300

Had the same issue. My huge old standby favorite kitchenaid crockpot finally gave up the ghost and I tried several crocks and none of them measured up. My hubby felt sorry for me and surprised me with this beast. I’m loving it. Best kitchen addition I’ve had a in a long time. I agree about the sear temperature too. It’s not quite high enough but gets the job done.

Just got it on sale at sams club for $80 today, cannot wait to play with it! Thanks for the in depth advice

This is what a review should be like. Down-to-earth, straightforward, honest, not glitzy, but technically well presented. The ordinary home chef will relate well to this. As for the Ninja, it survived the various tests well. We have several Ninja products, and this one will not be an exception.

Just got this at Costco for $80 So far I've only made chili, but it was great, brown the meat, and sear the veggies and then set it to slow cook. Made a nice large quantity. Loved it. It's going to be perfect for searing a roast before slow cooking

I made a pot roast with potatoes and carrots in mine yesterday. Was absolutely hands down the best roast I have ever made! It was falling apart! What I truly loved was the Ninja pot did not heat up my kitchen as it cooked all day long!

I did purchase this item and ended up returning it. The non-stick was something different and every time I wiped the inside with paper towel, it would leave tiny pieces throughout the pan. Never ever had a single dish, pot, or pan do that.

Finally heard back from the company, Shark/Ninja. The pot is lined with nano-ceramic. Here's the response copied/pasted: The inner pot of the Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker PRO is coated with nano-ceramic and is free from PTFE and PFOA, ensuring a safer and more durable cooking surface.

I’m glad I read the comments about the coating, it was kind of a downer for me. Now not so much. I just did turkey soup in it and it did what I needed it to do... So all in all I just wanted something that I can use to set and forget.

The newest Pro Plus is $79.86 at Wal-Mart. I picked one up even though I may never use it. When My crock pot dies I will pull this out.

would love to know what you think of the Ninja Foodi Possible Cooker 8 in 1, as a slow cooker
