The Coway Mighty is the r/BuyItForLife answer to air purifiers, named in every thread: real HEPA, a dial instead of an app, a filter a year, and units running around the clock for six to ten years. It ranks first for being the one nobody regrets, as long as they did not pay full price.
The pattern is the same in every report. Two units 'running for about 10 years'↗: 'Change the filters when it says they need changing and that's it'↗. One 'running 24/7 for 6 years on the low setting'↗, 'Nearly silent, draws only a couple watts'↗. An owner with a monitor finds 'Indoor measured air quality is essentially 0 AQI unless I'm cooking'↗. My farmhouse is on a nonstop smoke stream /dust from gravel route and has 6 dogs, 5 of which are BIG Siberian Huskies with the last being a German Shepard... In 2022 The Coway Airmega 400 became the last one I bought. It just sits there in the living room and works. The filters - plural - are huge and thick with excellent easy wash prefilter covers. I have only changed filters one time otherwise they just get vacuumed once/twice a month... Its expensive AS FUCK though and it currently listed at 650 bucks on Amazon, DO NOT BUY THEM AT FULL PRICE!!! i repeat NEVER BUY FULL PRICE the model I got is on "sale" for around 350 dollars as often as its not.

I've had one running 24/7 for 6 years on the low setting. Nearly silent, draws only a couple watts, Just need to vacuum the prefilter one a while and change the HEPA once a year

I've had good results with a couple Coway units (400s and 1512s). Indoor measured air quality is essentially 0 AQI unless I'm cooking, and that quickly recovers. Gotta make sure you have enough air purifiers for your spaces, otherwise even the best won't get your air clean.

I use Coway Airmega 450, and yes it's a bit of overkill for my space but it handles it all, has a nice design, and runs quiet. I vacuum the filter once or twice a month, and replace entirely once a year. The unit is $499 Amazon, or $450 on Sylvane... The replacement filters run about $100, which is pricey, but breathing is kind of a priority.

This is a very good air purifier for the money for a smaller space. Not strong for odors or smaller particulates. But it is good for larger particles 4 the money. 👍

I've had mine for a couple years and love it. However, the latch on the upper right side of the purifier where the cover goes on snapped off. I have to tape it on, but don't see why this would cause it to be any less effective? Or should it be replaced? Still seems to be working afaik..

The Coway hepa filter is better than Winix. But Winix has a better Carbon filter. So I have both🤣🤣🤣🤣Got the Winix Xq for living room and 2 Coway 1512HH for our bedrooms😊
