Why it ranks here. The Nanit is the monitor parents argue about most: a camera that logs every sleep and wake on its own, a breathing band, height tracking, and a view from work. It ranks first because the parents it works for love it. It ranks with warnings: chronic wifi dropouts for some, a paywall after year one, and one power adapter that came apart in a toddler's hands.

Wow really?? I love mine! It’s never disconnected (unless our internet went down). I’ve gotten so much use out of it (breathewear, nap/sleep insights, video recording).

I will say we haven’t had any connection issues with ours. I’d guess yours is defective. Overall, I truly don’t know that I’d buy it again. They should give all the stuff free instead of paywalling it behind a subscription since it’s so expensive to start with but the breathing monitor works without the sub and that’s really why we bought it anyways.

I had SO MANY issues with my Nanit. Hours spent talking to customer support. I had like 3 new heads sent to me and they all didn’t fucking work. The only resolution I came up with is putting the Nanit in the same room, a few feet away, from the router. And now I have no issues. I will say that I do love the Nanit now that it fucking works but ONLY because it tells me the moment my daughter fell asleep and woke up.

My husband walked in to check on my son after I noticed he'd turned on a light in his nursery. He found our son in the corner, playing with an outlet, holding the Nanit brand power block after separating it from the front plate with the prongs, STILL PLUGGED IN... This is unconscionable and horrifying. Fuck Nanit, fuck this kind of life-threatening cheap manufacturing.

We really liked the nap tracking... The Nanit just tracks it all for you. We always knew how long the baby slept or when they last woke up... The tripod base is asinine. It doesn't fit behind furniture... We also ended up getting a cheap non wifi monitor (Moony baby or something) as backup for if the electricity or Wi-Fi went out overnight, and I definitely recommend having some kind of backup.

We just purchased our second Nanit Plus when they went on sale as the Pro was released. We love the Nanit with our daughter, now 15 months... Definitely recommend! However, we can't quite get into all the upgrade accessories for breathing and height...it's just too gimmicky and we are satisfied with just monitoring sleep.

Purchased a Nanit Pro a week ago in preparation for our first baby coming next week... The feature that sealed the deal for me was being able to have the audio play while my phone is locked. I had a sibling that died from SIDS so it’s something I’m very conscious of which justifies the price for me

We returned our Nanit Pro. didn't feel it was worth the price. The owlet sock was more versitle than the sleepwear and the owlet cam is adequate for our needs. Additionally on rural DSL, Nanit seemed to constantly be using bandwidth which impacted our other uses of our internet. (30/1.5 mbps)

I have it, don't know if I should recommend it or not. I mean, it's fine, image is clear, you can setup white noise, notifications when baby is crying but honestly, the other 30$ cam that we had was probably more than enough. Certainly better value for money.

I liked the breathing band when baby was little, but beyond that, it’s overpriced for what it is and the subscription is not worth it. It’s highly inaccurate - doesn’t log that baby woke up in the middle of the night when I know for a fact she did, it’ll say a caretaker checked in on her when no one did, etc.

A lot of the Nanit stuff is a “nice to have,” not a “need to have.” The only reason I got the Nanit was because it is HSA eligible... I don’t dislike the Nanit at all. We loved the sound/light machine so much, we got a second one! ...I have enjoyed the height measurements to track our 95th+ percentile baby grow like an absolute weed lol
