• I returned mine after a couple days. I hate bottles with straws and funky tops. Too many components and my ice stayed solid for ~12 hours. My yeti can easily go 1-2 full days with ice completely solid. I like being able to just refill the water & keeping the ice in there.

• The cup does not leak which seemed good. However, after normal use of just 1.5 months, the cup cover started to degrade and produce plastic shreds, as pictured. This could be a health hazard as the plastic shreds would be ingested. Contacted Owala warranty service, but they denied the claim stating that this was "normal wear and tear". I have never seen a cup cover degrading so fast.

You no longer need to twist to open the cap! con - the removable rubber gasket that seals the bottle is really prone to getting mold on it and it's very difficult to clean the rubber material.

• Love my Owala but like you said it has its faults but i prefer it over my other bottles, along with the issues you mentioned i have also noticed: --The lid often doesn't open when you press the button --The straw also does sometimes fall off inside the bottle and is not easy to put back on --The button on one of mine fell out and i had to heat and reshape it a little to get it to stay (QA Problem) --new--bring the new silicone design from the free sip sway to the older bottle (prevent straw geyser for sparkling water and flights) Definitely my favorite straw lid though by a mile. they could make some improvements like getting rid of the rubber coating, making the lid open more readily, swapping for a metal straw, and tweaking the release button or just better QA.

• I will say the Owala straws design does make it fall out pretty often for me which is very annoying because I dont want to open the bottle while im out and about without washing my hands first. Its happened several times to me where I was reduced for chug only for awhile. Also one time, the straw fell out on the ground at the airport right before I was about to board my fllight and that was so frustrating I just couldnt use the straw for hours. • I can certainly see the controversy from lack of understanding, but lead based solder melts at around 363°F the max temp a dishwasher could do is about 200°F. Any hotter than that, the water vaporizes. If you have anything hot enough to melt solder in a dishwasher, something is very wrong

• I’ve been loyal to the yeti ramblers with flip straw lids for years but I hate that my 18oz rambler is the only one that can fit in a cup holder without a big adapter. I also put ice in my bottles and it seems like taking 3 sips of my rambler drains all the water pretty quick. Did some research and found this 40oz leakproof steel Stanley and the difference is night and day. Stanley lid is sturdier, handle is more ergonomic, fits in cup holder, dishwasher safe, and the straw diameter is bigger than the yeti ramblers so every sip is more satisfying. Highly recommend.

• I actually got a "thermoflask" from Costco in a 2 pack for $25 and it maintains liquids at their temp for the exact same amount of time. I've had it for about 4 years now with a couple dents and dings from it falling out my backpack when I bend over but besides that it's still works like new. I highly recommend going the Costco/Sam's Club rout if someone is thinking about buying a vacuum sealed flask, especially at 2 (32 oz) for $25 while the same hydro flask cost $40.

• My old Zulu 40 oz water bottle's handle broke last night before I got off work and let's just say, by the time I went to bed, I was using my new Yeti Rambler 36 oz in Navy Blue. • So I bought this 24oz Simple Modern Trek Kids tumbler for the cute pattern. So far I have only noticed this issue at night in bed and haven't been able to get a photo, but I'll grab the cup and tilt it towards me to take a sip and all this liquid spills. Today I finally got a photo of it actually happening. It's like liquid slowly travels up the straw and oozes out the top and creates a little puddle. • Just got mine a week ago. I was very surprised to see condensation on it. IIRC/AFAIK, my past Hydroflasks never did. Is this common with S|M or do I have a defective unit? I'm lowkey giving a dirty look at "Sweat-Free Exterior: Double wall insulation prevents condensation..."
