• I use the Bearaby tencel weighted blanket year round in Colorado. It can be used with just a sheet in summer or layered up in winter. I have not had problems with it being too hot because the way it’s made. I also have their travel blanket.

• I was so excited about this purchase. I got it over the holidays and by the time I had the chance to use it and figured out that your body does not adjust to the heat, they would not take it back. They say no hassle returns in 30 days but if you pass that by 1 day, they won't even consider helping you out... The blanket makes you SOOO hot and even with the ties inside the sheets, it does not stay put. Do not waste your money on this.

• Great review! After weeks of mulling over splurging for the Tree Napper, I went for it in August 2020. I too got the fifteen pound one (I am a woman and thought the 20 pound would be too heavy). I am so pleased with this blanket. I definitely sleep more deeply. My husband says I am much less active while sleeping. The blanket feels like a gentle hug.

• So I have the cotton bearaby in a 20 lbs. I'm 205lbs. Does not seem that heavy. Tried folding it ontop of itself but still doesn't feel right. I do like it unfolded as it does feel to hug u. I put a luna bamboo duvet cover on this bc I didn't like the open knit feel and wash issue of a heavy blanket.

Why it ranks here. Gravity is the brand that made weighted blankets a thing, and its owners are the ones with the longest histories, some nightly since 2019. It has a removable duvet-style cover and a cooling Breeze version. It ranks third on price, and on the beads.

The long-term reports are the point. One has used the original 'every night'↗ since 2019 'and love it'↗, another has had the 15-pound Breeze since 2022 and says 'it's held up very well'↗. The removable cover makes washing easy. The beads are the catch. Unless you shake the blanket out 'so the beads dont pool at one end'↗, they do, and an owner who stopped bothering says that 'now 3 years later its terrible'↗. The Purple version is 35 pounds across a 90-inch square, which feels lighter than it sounds but is a lot of blanket for a small person. And at $200 to $300 the question of whether it is worth it never goes away.

• I feel that the weight divided by 10 rule mostly applies to traditional sized weighted blankets made for a single person. This blanket is 35lbs spread across a 90”x90” surface. Which will actually feel more like, according to the purple website, 10-17lbs of weight depending on the individual’s size. Not nearly as heavy feeling as say a 35lbs blanket at 48”x72” or 60”x80”.
